Hi, welcome to the online home of Milestones Photography. We’re a boutique studio of photojournalists who have walked away from the the 24-hour news cycle and set up shop celebrating real-life moments: weddings, births, birthdays, families, you name it. We even cover floods. In fact, we’re gearing up to do that again.

We’re based in the West Fargo-Fargo-Moorhead area and we also travel. Our images compete and place in international photojournalism competitions on a regular basis. We’re members of the WPJA and it’s sister org, the AG-WPJA.

We believe in working smart, working hard, and having fun while we’re at it! We think we have the best jobs ever. We love doing this, and we hope you’ll love us doing it for you!

We take our images very seriously, but sometimes it's hard to hide the inner geek. We just can’t help it. You know, work hard, play hard, yadda, yadda. So come along for the ride. You’ll either be laughing at us, or with us. (If it’s the former, please don’t tell.)

Wedding Wednesday: Nautical

Never mind that Fargo is as far from an ocean as you can possibly get, you should embrace the newest trend in fashion and design: nautical. Seriously, it seems like a perfect excuse to get married in northern Minnesota along beautiful Lake Superior. Better yet, let a nautical theme be your excuse to plan a destination wedding on the east coast or the Normandy region of France. Or, if you can’t bear to leave the flatlands of North Dakota, use the excuse that we live in a sea of prairie grass and soybeans. That’s a proper justification, right?

If I haven’t persuaded you to have a nautical wedding yet, take a look at this beautiful wedding photographed by Shannon Lee Images (and found on Style Me Pretty). The Navy, white and coral color scheme matched with traditional nautical symbols of stripes and anchors is absolutely delightful. Love!

Table decoration possibilites are endless. I love theses cute little jars and this adorable place card boat. Oh, and silverware tied with a fisherman’s rope… cheap, easy and genius.
