Photojournalism is not a buzzword at Milestones Photography. It’s a career.
Owner and principal photographer Dave Arntson holds a degree in photojournalism and has a decade of experience as a press photographer. He has been on staff at The Forum of Fargo-Moorhead and at the The Northwestern of Oshkosh, Wis., where he covered daily news and sports, including the NFL. He also teaches photography courses at Minnesota State University Moorhead.
Principal photographer Britta Trygstad joined Milestones Photography in 2005 after earning her photojournalism degree from MSUM. Trygstad was raised in Erhard, Minn. and has experience as a staff photographer at The Forum of Fargo-Moorhead. Britta is also an award-winning member of both the WPJA and [AG]WPJA.
Director of Marketing Sarah Arntson has 10 years of experience in broadcast journalism and newspaper advertising. She is a native of Sioux Falls, S.D., and earned her mass communications degree from MSUM. She divides her duties at Milestones with freelance writing. Her stories have appeared in newspapers across the Midwest and in Area Woman, From House to Home, and Wedding Vow magazines.
Associate photographer and designer Penny Burns, a native of Viborg, S.D., is finishing her photojournalism degree at MSUM. Along with her photography duties, she designs all of our custom cards, thank you notes and graduation announcements.
Contributing photographer Morea Steinhauer grew up in the Thief River Falls, Minn., area. She graduated from MSUM, where she designed an individualized degree in photography and arts in business and completed her Masters of Arts in Gender and Peace Building from the United Nations mandated University for Peace in Costa Rica.
Contributing photographer Ann Arbor Miller has been photographing weddings and portraits for Milestones since 2007. An experienced photojournalist, she most recently was a staff photographer at The Forum and she holds a masters in visual communication from Ohio University.
Photo assistant Ben Green joined Milestones in the summer of 2009. He is a native of Fargo and is currently pursuing a degree in photojournalism from MSUM.

He is an award-winning member of the National Press Photographers Association, North Dakota’s first award-winner in the Wedding Photojournalist Association (WPJA) and a member of its sister organization, the Artistic Guild of the Wedding Photojournalist Association ([AG]WPJA).
