Celebrating Grandparents

The beautiful lady you see above is my grandmother (and she’s going to be mortified to find out I posted these photos). So often we think about newborn and child photos as creating a lasting legacy – but let’s not forget the people that started those legacies. It took a little convincing to get Grandma to pose for me but I’m glad I convinced her – these photos were a great gift to my extended family. And they’ll mean in even more in the future.

What memories do you have of your grandparents? Did Grandpa show you how to drive a tractor while you sat on his lap? Or maybe Grandma watched you after school and helped you with your homework? Ask anyone in my family about my grandma’s caramel rolls and we’ll all have a story for you.

That’s why I’m making this Grandparents Month! Let me capture that lasting legacy of your grandparents that you’ll always cherish. Schedule an appointment for your grandparents in February and you’ll receive:

  • Five beautiful portraits taken in the home or our studio on CD with a reproduction release
  • One 8×10 print of your choosing
  • A 20% discount on any additional prints
  • All for only $150 per couple or individual

This offer is only good for grandparents (no, I won’t be checking IDs or birth dates) and appointments must be scheduled in February with the photo sessions taking place in either February or March.

Trina + Pete

Our final wedding of 2011 with Trina and Pete was a great way to end the year. Trina readied herself at the Plains Art Museum where she and Pete had their first glimpse and we started the group portraits. As is always the case, the museum provided a great backdrop and great light for some lovely portraits. Even an NDSU playoff game couldn’t stop the ceremony at the Swiss Cheese Church (aka Olivet Lutheran) although the groomsmen did have a radio to follow the game.

The reception back the at the museum started rocking right away with guests singing songs containing the word “love” to get Trina and Pete to kiss. Everyone really got into it! The dance didn’t slow down a bit, not with Post-Traumatic Funk Syndrome blowing out some big tunes. Britta and I could have listened all night!

Congrats, Trina and Pete, and thanks for letting us spend your amazing day with you.

Mabel

I love photographing weddings but what’s even better is when the couples come back and let me photograph the newest additions to their families. I photographed Phillip and Maari’s wedding almost six years ago and they now have an amazing addition to their family – Mabel.

Go ahead, try and get over her cuteness – I dare you.
